Why keyword matching fails for technical roles

A resume that says Kubernetes twelve times is not a stronger candidate than one that says it once next to a production incident story. Keyword counts reward padding. We score evidence instead: dated responsibilities, measurable outcomes, and consistency between roles.

In a sample of 2,300 engineering applications from three customers, keyword ranking put 38 percent of eventual hires outside the top 50. Evidence ranking put 9 percent outside.
